Ellis' Story

I first learned about acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine as a patient, seeking healing from Lyme disease, autoimmune issues, and chronic pain after western medicine left me with no hope and no effective treatment options. The healing that I have experienced with this medicine has been profound, and I’m honored to share what I’ve learned with my patients to support their own healing journeys.

Prior to starting acupuncture school, I completed an ear acupuncture technician training focused on the 5-Needle Protocol for detox support, and knew I wanted to continue learning. I received my Master’s in Acupuncture from ASAOM in Tucson in 2023. While in my program, I had the opportunity to study a style of acupuncture called Japanese Meridian Therapy, which deeply resonated with me. It is a style that uses fewer and thinner needles, as well as non-insertive tools to bring your body into balance, achieve symptom relief, and clear the way for deep healing. It is effective for a wide range of issues, and has the added benefit of offering needle-sensitive patients a way to access healing too. In my practice, I am especially drawn to treating pain, emotional issues, and complex chronic illness. In addition to acupuncture, I utilize modalities including cupping, guasha, moxibustion, and herbal formulas.

Prior to studying acupuncture, I worked as a high school teacher and an organic vegetable farmer. I bring what I’ve learned from these experiences into my practice as well — patient education is an important part of my practice, and I incorporate food therapy and self-care practices like qigong into your treatment plan to support your healing between treatments. My approach is patient-centered, and I see treatment as a collaboration that helps you reconnect with your vitality and inner healer.
